Since 1st August 2024, The Wyvern has been operating as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). While we previously ran as a private members’ club, our focus is now on serving the entire local community rather than a membership-based model.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:

Open to Everyone – No membership required!
Optional Discount Cards – Available for regular customers:

• Individual Card: £32 per year
• Family Card: £48 per year (includes half-price additional card)
• Customers spending over £21.35 per month (individuals) or £32 per month(families) will benefit from a discount card.

Discount Change – The discount for cardholders is now 12.5% (previously 17.5%). This was the standard rate prior to COVID and allows us to fairly price drinks for all customers.
Retired & Ex-Somerset Council Discounts – These special discounted rates are no longer available as part of our transition to serving the wider community.

PRICING & COSTS

While many brewers have increased their prices, we have chosen not to pass these increases on at this time.

Once most discount card holders have transitioned to the 12.5% rate, we will review our drink prices with the aim of reducing them where possible.

This must be balanced against rising costs, including an estimated £10,000+ increase due to the government’s budget changes (business rate increases & minimum wage rise).

REINVESTING IN THE COMMUNITY

As a not-for-profit CIC, any surpluses we generate are reinvested back into The Wyvern to improve facilities and services for the community.
