The Wyvern Squash community consists of a variety of members of different ages, genders, and abilities. We are an inclusive group and everyone is welcome to join, whether that be for a friendly hit or a competitive game. The Wyvern boasts three well-maintained heated courts, including one glass back court with a seated viewing area on the ground level and first floor. There is a spectating area above all courts that allows for easy viewing of matches. Other facilities include toileting facilities, wheelchair access to the ground floor, changing areas with hot showers and a cold water dispenser.
Squash Membership Pricing
- Individual Squash Membership: £80 per year
- Family Squash Membership (must live at the same address) : £95 per year
Court Booking & Pricing
To book a squash court, you must be a member of The Wyvern Squash Community. As a Member you will be provided with an online account allowing you upload funds and book courts directly via the eBooking link. Courts are available to book from 7am-11pm everyday. When booking a court, the costs will be split between the players equally. The booking system will enable the court lights to automatically turn on for your allocated slot time – easy and stress free!

Squash and Racketball Boxes
All members are welcome to join the internal squash and racketball boxes. It gives you the opportunity to play competitive matches against other members of similar abilities, with the aim of progressing up through the boxes and improving your Somerset Squash ranking. Each month you will arrange to play around 3-4 matches with the other players that are in your box. Positions and boxes will be updated once per month and the squash boxes will be published on the Somerset Squash Website. The racketball boxes will be emailed out at the start of each month. Squash League
The Wyvern is proud to have 3 teams operating within the Somerset Squash League. Each team consists of 5 players that take part in competitive matches (first to 15, best of 5 games) against other teams within the Somerset area on Monday evenings. Teams play both home and away matches, and share dinner together after the matches. Fixtures and tables can be found here. Squash & Racketball Socials
Every Friday night from 5.15pm – 8.30pm The Wyvern welcomes everyone of all abilities to come together for a friendly and fun game of squash. Play for as little or as long as you’d like. It’s a great opportunity to meet other players and play match scenarios, conditioned games, and 3/4 court games. Prepare to get challenged by Keith the GOAT of Friday nights, and sweat your booty off keeping up with the teenagers running circles around the court. The night is then finished off nicely with an optional pint (or two) and grub at the bar. It only costs £2 to attend and is booked online.
Sunday mornings welcome the racketball players to enjoy a run around on court with a bigger ball from 9.30am – 12pm. Racketball is great for people who are looking to engage in a fun sport, that burns many calories and is kinder on the knees as the ball is bouncer. Don’t be fooled though, the rallies can be long and leave you puffing! Similar to the squash club night, it costs only £2 to participate and can be booked online. As always, racketball club is polished off with a refreshment and natter in the bar afterwards.
As well as being social on the courts, we also arrange social trips and events that everyone is welcome to join. Previous socials have included curry nights, trips to rugby matches, pub crawls, dinner parties and more. The Wyvern community also have a WhatsApp group for members to join to stay up to date with all things squash, racketball and social.
Are you new to the sport?
The sound of the ball being hit hard, can sometimes be intimidating, but please do not let that put you off! Squash and racketball is an energetic game that burns high calories, focuses on precision and accuracy, is social and can be played at all times of the year – luckily the sport is not dependent on sunny British weather!
Check out this short video to learn the basics of the game. Most importantly, the number one rule for anyone using the courts is to ensure that trainers are clean, dry, indoor and non-marking, otherwise you will face the rath of stroppy members! The second most important rule, is to have FUN!!!
