Our bar staff from The Wyvern are swapping pints for pounding pavements as they prepare to run 5K in aid of St Maragret’s Hospice, a charity providing end-of-life care.
The team—Vicky, Bruno, Millie, Edward, and Alissa—will take on the challenge at Taunton Racecourse. Each runner has a deeply personal reason for crossing the finish line.
Vicky is running in memory of her sister, who passed during the COVID-19 pandemic while under the compassionate care of the hospice. “They gave her dignity and peace when we couldn’t be there. This run is for her,” Vicky said.
Bruno brings the energy, running purely for the love of the sport and being outdoors. Millie is motivated by her passion for helping others and is determined to raise as much as possible. Edward sees running to stay fit and make the most of every moment while raising money for a great local charity, and Alissa returns to the event for a third time—her mother works for the hospice, and she knows firsthand the impact of every pound raised.
